A Plea On Behalf of Haiti

It is our responsibility!

It’s kind of difficult to blog about anything other than what’s going on in Haiti. It would be irresponsible not to make a plea to ones audience on behalf of Haiti.  All the sales pitches and affiliate marketing are worth a damn if we don’t turn to our readers, audiences, subscribers and advertisers and ask that each and every one dig down deep to help build Haiti and her people back up.

3 Million People!

Haiti the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere as you know was hit by a 7.0 Earthquake on Tuesday (Jan 12), and 3 million plus people are affected by this. Affected beyond comprehension.

I have watched and listened to broadcast on TV and radio all quite positive, informative and provided lists of ways that we here in the US can help. Then on the other hand there is Pat Roberts a spiritual leaders that chooses to sit in judgement of the people of Haiti, which is unforutante. Watch his video here

Lend a helping hand

Here is a simple list of a few ways that we can reach out to those in Haiti.  Ways to assist with the massive rebuild that will be going on for years to come. Hopefully this time the infrastructure is built suitable for human beings.

1. Yele.org- Wyclef Jean’s grassroots organization
Text Yele to 501501 to donate $5 via your cell phone

2. American Red Cross-International Response Fund

Key Precautions to take before donating any money

• Ignore unsolicited e-mails, and do not click on links within those messages.

• Be skeptical of individuals representing themselves as surviving victims or officials asking for donations via e-mail or social networking sites.

• Be cautious of e-mails that claim to show pictures of the disaster areas in attached files, because the files may contain computer viruses. Open attachments only from know senders.

• Decline to give personal or financial information to anyone who solicits contributions.

• Make contributions directly to known organizations, rather than relying on others who claim in e-mails that they will channel the donation to established groups.

Walk the Walk!

It easier to look the other way and say this has nothing to do with me or my family, but it does. We are all part of the human race and are charged to look out for one another. It can be viewed as a burden or a blessing the choice is yours.

We post blogs about how we are all about building a community and networking well now is the time to Walk the Walk.  Thank you.

I’m glad this time around for not having sound hooked up. I haven’t heard Pat’s remarks and doubt I want to.

Thank you for this post though, I was thinking about it on and off but found myself busy..now I’ve been able to donate. :)

  2. Hi Ms Freeman,
I just wanted to echo what Teeni said. Your sound advice was spot on and a timely reminder.

As for Pat Roberts, I haven’t watched his video and I don’t intend to. I agree completely with Kiesha, grace and mercy are ours to give because God first gave them to us. With the likes of Pat Roberts representing ‘the church’ Satan must be laughing all the way to the bank. It’s tragic.

Hi thank you for you visit and comment. :) Teeni is the best!

I don’t think anyone should be forced into retirement simply becuase they are ‘old’, but when they start talking out of their ass then it is time to send them out to pasture.
