Stun’em with an Elevator Pitch

An elevator pitch is a very short message that’s usually less than 140 words according to SBENCO.

“The key is to get the message across in the time an elevator ride takes. You should be able to convey your idea, yet leave room for the investor to ask the right questions, causing an extended conversation at a later date.”

So, here is my current elevator pitch for Go4UConcierge.com

Go4UConcierge Personal Shopping & Errand Service is a “Can Do” company that frees up valuable time for our clients. We take on the responsibility of getting everyday choirs and errands done in a timely and efficient manner.

Go4UConcierge Personal Shopping & Errand Service has a “No Task is Too Small or Too Difficult” policy. We provide a variety of services from laundry pick-up to vehicle attending as well as pet sitting and shopping, just to name a few.

We are a community based company making us familiar with area trends and best prices on goods and services. The luxury service we provide is an easily justifiable expense that allows clients to return their focus to their children, spouses and leisure time. Member only pays for time used and Go4U Concierge offers membership packages to further meet different needs and circumstances.

Whelp that is the Who, What, Where, Why and How of my business. My pitch left room for further questions and an opportunity for me to engage my potential clients in conversation.

What are your thoughts? Does that give a concise overview of what my business is? Do you have an Elevator Pitch prepared and ready to go?

Ms. Freeman

  2. A good elevator pitch is important for many reasons. If you can describe what you do in a flash, then you’re not focused enough.

For me, I prefer elevator pitches to be even shorter than 140 words. I like the initial pitch to be fewer than 20 words. And if details are asked, then the longer version can be pulled out.

  4. I think you need a request of action to close your pitch. Something like “Would you like to know more?” to help the interaction.

And I think your pitch is too long. You should shorten it as short as possible.

    But that’s just me :D

  5. Kiesha says:

A few years ago, my husband and I were tinkering with the idea of starting this type of service. We were focusing on the “delivery” aspect, but soon after, gas prices surged and we got discouraged. I’m glad to hear it’s working out for you.

I do have my elevator pitch ready for Highly Favored, a Christian website that aims to show everyday people how to deepen their relationship with Christ in practical ways. This site focuses on strengthening marriage and family relationships, as well as developing a spirit of service. It has a growing community on its Facebook Fanpage and will soon begin offering inspirational silicon bracelets to help support the site.
