10 Reasons to Start a Blog
1. You Need a Voice
You have something to say, we all have something to say. Blogs provide a place for you to say what is on your mind and in your own words. It is an opportunity to be heard and gain feedback. Rather than yell at the TV, or succumb to bouts of road rage start a blog.
2. Marketing or Promoting
You can use your Blog to market or promote yourself or your business, product or service. Nearly every corporation and small business has an online presence; a blog is an extension of that. A blog provides a way for you to provide more detailed product information and promotions or special offers to your customers. It allows your consumers to provide immediate feedback as well. Promote yourself particularly if you are job hunting, post your resume, highlight your skills, post examples of your work etc.
3. Personal Blogging
With the cost of travel continually increasing staying in touch with family, friends and colleagues is made simpler through blogging. With a blog you can share stories, videos and photos.
4. Help People
Write a blog to help people. If you are experiencing something chances are you are not alone. Share your experiences and allow others to do the same. Many self-help and relationship blogs are written for this purpose. Start a charitable blog and collect donations for those in need.
5. Commonality
Starting a blog can help you find people who share the same opinions and thoughts as yourself. If you are passionate about a particular subject, let’s say Cooking. Then creating a blog in that niche will help you to connect with many other cooks and chefs around the world. Just imagine the growth potential and opportunity for recipe swapping.
6. Great Debate
If there is a cause or societal issue you are interested in and want to have a voice. Blogging is an excellent platform to get your thoughts and opinions heard. Sports blogs and Political blogs are two very hot topics and there is no shortage of heated debates and intense conversations.
7. You are the Expert
This is one to the biggest reasons blogs are conceived. Everyone is an expert at something. Determine what your special skill is and establish yourself as an expert. Share that knowledge with others and create a niche that is unique to that skill. In some cases you can even Make Money with your blog.
8. Be Incognito
Blogging allows you an opportunity to be something you’re possibly not. If you are shy and introverted and don’t normally speak your mind on issues then a blog is a perfect disguise. Or vice versa if you find you always get heated during live discussions then perhaps it is best you blog rather than verbalize. Who knows on the internet you can be anyone you want to be.
9. Daily Journal
You may just want to blog for the simple reason as to have a personal journal. Document your journey in life. Post your memoires either publically or you can password protect them to be private for family and friends only.
10. Make Money
If you find that special niche for instance Internet Entrepreneurship and you can establish yourself as an expert with in it. If you feel your content can help others by teaching them How To do something, or spark conversation and debate. If the audience you are speaking to has something in common with you. If all the stars align just right you too can Make Money with your blog.
