What is a Bootstrap Business?
Are you getting discourage because you see other bloggers reporting revenues through he roof? Don’t be! Are you thinking if only you had a larger amount of seed money for your start-up? Don’t worry! Stay Motivated. If you have little to no money you can still fulfill your dream of entrepreneurship. I am! I am because I am a Boot-Strapper.
Bootstrap as a metaphor, meaning to better oneself by one’s own unaided efforts.
A boot-strapper is someone who uses their own time, money and resources to get a business successfully launched – whether it is a small one-person shop or a big multi-million dollar company. Boot-strappers believe totally in the viability of their business and their ability to execute – otherwise they wouldn’t be doing what they do. After all, they’re risking their own money!
It’s All In The Way You View It
Freeman Legacy LLC is a bootstrap company in that I am its sole employee/manager and it is starting with little to no money. I know! You are thinking that’s crazy, you’ll never make anything of it.
I see things a bit differently though. Because I am the only entity at this point I don’t have to hold multi-hour planning meetings or confer with anyone else, thereby freeing up valuable time to remain productive. And because I don’t have investors I don’t need a formal written business plan at this time nor do I answer to anyone;creating a very flexible work environment. Business flows so much easier without all the red tape and bureaucracy that investor driven businesses must endure.
Simply Put
While bootstrapping seems like the poor or cheap way of doing business it is actually quite frugal and a clever. There is no reason to spend large sums of money starting up an online business.
