How to Network and Find a Blogging Community

I’m reading PureBlogging today and one of the posts from August is about Networking with Other Bloggers.

Listed there are 15 Places to Network with Other Bloggers. Some of the online locations are obvious and I have already talked about and have enrolled in; like Facebook and Twitter. But the list still provides some really relevant forums and ideas on how to build a network and become part of a community.

Becoming part of a community is key to the success of any blogger, whether for profit or just for fun. Although you are writing about your interests and are writing for the joy of it, you probably still want others to read what you have to say and provide feedback. Am I right? So, mingle a bit and get to know those around you in the blogosphere. Find like mind thought leaders that share the same goals. Be part of a community.

Be part of a community online as well as off line. I joined Meetup.com a year or so ago for personal meetups like, going out to restaurants or learning to dance the Texas Two Step etc, but there are so many other groups out there beside dancing and dating.

I recently joined a WordPress Group and an Internet Marketing Group. I am looking forward to meeting folks in my area that are striving to be successful Internet Entrepreneurs. Interacting with live readers and hearing comments rather than just reading them will be a tremendous help. Don’t you think?

Check out Meetup.com in your local area and see if there are any meetups you can attend. “Network, network, network!” We do it on the job so that mentality needs to continue well into our own business. Good luck and have fun!

Are you a member of any local meetups in your area? What benefits have they provided for you? Please let us know in the comments. Thanks.

Ms. Freeman

I agree with the concept of building your community and most importantly being a part of it. Becoming part of an active community is certainly one of the key elements for successful blogging, regardless of what your ulterior motives is. Never heard of meetup though and again, off I go and check it out. Have a nice day

I think even more important than building a network is actually keeping and maintaining that network.

I join DP forums for this purpose. Hope can make good community in there.

Come to think of it, I’ve never really considered local meetups when it comes to networking. I figured that since everything else surrounding my work takes place online, so should my networking.

I am, however, an active member of a few online communities. I think this is where things matter most.

There are some really great meet-up groups that focus on blogging and internet entrepreneurship. I realize we all want to remain anonymous online, but for those that are comfortable exposing themselves it really can be of benefit.

Keeping safety at the forefront of everything of course :)

Have you had a chance to check out any local meetups yet? :)
