Express yourself in 140 characters or less. That’s what Twitter is all about. Keeping it short and sweet!

Setting up my Twitter account for Freeman Legacy LLC was a cinch. Twitter is very basic and user friendly.

*All I had to do was select a username and password, enter a valid email and I was on my way to following and being followed.

*Displaying a short but relevant description about my business goals in 160 characters takes a little work, but is doable.

Here’s what I came up with: Follow me while I utilize the free online eBooks authored by the pros to become a World Traveling Entrepreneur.

*I selected a background and avatar that represents my desire to make money. And stayed consistent to create a branding effect, this way no matter where I go on the web I am easily recognizable.

*Find people to follow using the Find People page. I stuck with Entrepreneurs, Philanthropists and Internet Entrepreneurship. I also selected some of the leading ProBlogging/Make Money Online Gurus too.

*Installed the Post to Twitter Plug-in on my blog-so when I publish a post it is automatically published to Twitter.

Some of the tools I use and like best so far are:

SocialToo- automatically follows those that follow you and block auto generated direct messages for free. They do have a paid part of their service that un-follows those that un-follow you.

Twuffer- schedules your tweets for future delivery. This is useful if you have content you want read, but have twitter followers in several different time zones and parts of the world. You can schedule same day or even months in advance.

Twellow-is the online “yellow” pages for Twitter, register for free and users can look you up just as they would in the phone book.

TwitterCounter- displays your Twitter stats & follower trending. It shows the average number of followers you gain over the course of enrollment. Currently Freeman Legacy LLC is gaining 20 followers per day. Forecasts indicate 850 within 30 days. You can display a TwitterRemote widget to show off your progress.

TwitPic- share pictures on Twitter. Take photos with your cell phone and send them to Twitter. Very useful if I am at an exhibit or seminar and want to share visual data with my followers along with a Tweet.

There are all sorts of Twitter Tools, Plugins, Widgets for Wordpress Blogs out there to make the experience even more fun and efficient. Some provide free service and some offer the minimum service for free and accept payment for more in-depth features. Because Twitter is a free service all the tools I will be using will be free as well.
