7 Tips to Email Marketing
Marketing via email is powerful and it is easy. I’ve listed here the 7 Tips to Email Marketing that I have learned through the email campaign for Freeman Legacy LLC.
I noticed that many of the Internet Entrepreneur Gurus have recently been saying they wished they started building their email list from Day 1 of their blogs.
The reason being is over the course of the few years they have been up and running, they have lost out on countless opportunity to communicate with their readers. They’ve lost out on second and third chances to pitch and make sales.
Building an email list allows you to follow-up with your readers by providing answers to questions they may have, or offer them products and services. You can communicate a special message only available to your newsletter subscribers i.e. discounts, sweepstakes and prizes. I use Constant Contact. Constant Contact helps you to connect with your customers and build your business.
For instance in order for my readers to read my FREE eBook 10 Baby Steps to Building Your Online Business one must be signup for my email. Don’t worry I only send newsletters once a month, no spamming or overloading your inbox. I hate that and I’m sure you do too.
So, here are those 7 Tips to Email Marketing:
1. Avoid Email Marketing During the Holidays:
During the holidays, people tend to be away from their computers and not checking their email regularly. The first thing anyone does when the inbox is full of mail is delete, delete, delete. Don’t let yours end up in that box. Wait or schedule your email to drop well before the holiday or shortly after.
2. Avoid Mistyped Addresses by Requiring Retyping:
Unfortunately, a significant number of people interested in getting on your mailing list may not it because they mistype their email address in the sign-up form. When creating your Email Form be sure to select the option that requires them to re-type the address. It may seem like a hassle, but if they don’t receive what they feel they signed up for, it could reflect badly on you as not sending them the information.
3. Don’t “Fix” Mistyped Email Addresses:
Email addresses are a private matter, and a very delicate one. That’s why you should never fiddle with subscriber email addresses. If an address bounces repeatedly, just remove it.
4. Create a Clear Call to Action:
One of the crucial elements of an email marketing campaign is a clear call to action. Lay out exactly what you want the recipients of your message to do, and design the message to make that path clear for the recipient, and easy to follow. If you want them to click here, then be sure to say Click Here. If you want them to forward the message then be sure to say Forward This Message. Same goes for Join Today!
5. Strengthen the Preview Pane:
The Subject of your email marketing message plays a crucial role. If it’s not intriguing or familiar, or if it looks like spam, your mail will be deleted immediately. If your recipients have their email client’s preview pane turned on – and most do – what is displayed there should encourage them to read-on. You can build on the interest built with the Subject or even reverse the recipient’s decision to delete your message.
6. Reflect Your Corporate Design:
The design (and the content) of your newsletter or email marketing campaign should reflect your corporate design. This ensures that recipients can make a connection between the emails they get and the sender’s other ventures (even if it’s only a Web site). Make an effort to duplicate the color palette, font and wording of your blog or website.
7. Get Newsletter Subscribers with Giveaways:
Giveaways are a great way to build your list. But, if you decide to make use of freebies and prizes you should pay extra attention not only to quantity, but also to the quality of the list you build. The prizes should be compatible with your target group to attract primarily subscribers interested in getting your emails and not only people who sign up for the giveaways and then unsubscribe immediately. There’s not much point in that.
I am using Constant Contact as my email generator. Constant Contact makes it easy and affordable to build strong relationships with your customers. Try their FREE 60-Day Trial.
If you like it after 60 Days then you make a payment if not just cancel. But, keep in mind, because I am sure you will be so successful at creating your list if you cancel you lose your list. So don’t go into it with the mindset that you are going to cancel, you are in business to make money right? Constant Contact costs as little as $15 per month and that is quite affordable.

It is so annoying that gurus will tell you that email marketing is dead. If you know how to market yourself correctly people will be dying to read your emails
I think email marketing is really just beginning; at least it is for my blog. I have no intention of over saturating my subscriber’s inboxes with a bunch of sales pitches. That to me is obnoxious and abuse of information.
We have recently stepped up our email marketing to previous customers and it’s making a pretty big difference, I am passing these tips on to my guy that handles the mailer for us.
hm… thank you )
