10 Things I’ve learned as a Blogging Newbie
Jumping into blogging is not that difficult. Learning to stay afloat is another story. I have been on this journey for about 2 weeks and the learning never ends. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
1. Know why you’re blogging- Is it for fun, to make money or for fame. What is your motivation?
2. Know your audience- Are you blogging for family and friends or everyone on the web?
3. Set a goal- know what you are striving for. What’s the end game? If the plan is to sell the blog, when will that time frame be?
4. Network, Network, Network- Find associates in the niche you wish to be successful in. Reach out to those that are making a success of it. Find like minded bloggers to ideas with. Seek out newbies such as yourself and form a partnership; alliance to move each other forward.
5. Provide a service- Be a source for information, knowledge and encouragement. Offer help to those around you in the blogosphere.
6. Be Honest- You may not be an expert, but you can still present information from your point of view. Provide a fresh take on old ideas. If you are not an expert don’t try to sound like one, be honest and up front with your readers. Let them know you are on a journey to success and you will garner more respect that way.
7. Have a daily plan- knowing what tasks you plan to complete on a daily basis will keep you on track. There is a lot of time wasting obstacles out there such as plugins, stats, social networks, emails, theme designs, and RSS feeds. All these items need to be utilized but you have to set time limits on all of them. Plan to Twitter for 30minutes a day, install one plug in per day, Read 10 Feeds per day and so on. Make a list and schedule your time accordingly.
8. Read Blogs- Read as many expert blogs as possible. They are doing what you what to be doing, making money online. Glean as much knowledge from them as you can. Watch how they design their blogs, format their content and interact with their readers.
9. Leave comments- Once you’ve read a post and you feel inspired to comment do so. But, leave a comment that provides value to the topic of conversation. Be intelligent in your wording and be of help to someone else. You want others to read your comment and hopefully pay a visit to your blog, right? So leave a comment that will set you up for success.
10. Acknowledge others- When you write a post and you have been inspired by an article or post you read provide a link to it. Avoid looking like a plagiarist; if you use another person’s content link back to it, this includes photos as well.
This is a list of 10 Things I’ve learned as a Blogging Newbie however I have learned so much more. But, in the interest of keeping this post at a decent length I’ll stop here.
What are some things you have learned as a Newbie Blogger? Please share them in the comment section. Thanks.

I am a new blogging my self. And, I found that the most first important think is to create content base on our point of view. It will make uniqueness in our content
Very true, we can only speak from our experiences; we are not gurus so we should not try to sound like one.
you have an excellent site design and all though I have only seen a few articles here I think your content is excellent.
Keep being original and youll be a pro before you know it.
I would have to agree with Sham’s lesson as well – giving up is probably the single largest obstacle that new bloggers need to overcome – that, and actually taking action and starting in the first place.
